Chevron Delo® 400 XLE SB 15W-40

As you’ve heard, Chevron is breaking with convention to ensure customers have improved access to a reliable supply of competitively priced, competitively tiered, high-performance engine oils. That means moving from four oil categories to two – a line of full synthetic and synthetic blend products.

As part of this move, we are re-categorizing Chevron Delo® 400 XLE 15W-40 to a synthetic blend product and renaming it Chevron Delo 400 XLE SB 15W-40! This premium synthetic blend, API CK-4 heavy-duty engine oil will continue to be recommended for:

Today’s most modern on-highway low emission designs as well as older on-highway diesel engines.

Modern and older off-highway engines where an SAE 15W-40 viscosity grade is recommended, including those adapted for the most stringent emissions standards in oil and gas, construction, agriculture, marine, and mining applications.

In addition, with the new introduction we will sunset Delo 400 SDE 10W-30 and 15W-40. Please work with your customers to help them upgrade from SDE 10W-30 to XLE 10W-30, or from SDE 15W-40 to XLE SB 15W-40.

While we are also technically sunsetting Delo 400 XLE 15W-40, that same product code (257004) will continue to be used for XLE SB 15W-40.
