A Brief History of Chevron Delo

With roots reaching back to the Pacific Coast Oil Company back in 1879, Chevron boasts a proud heritage. Of particular importance to the trucking industryis Chevron’s development back in 1941 of the first fully compounded diesel engine oil. Adopted by the US Navy, that diesel engine oil formulation made long-range submarine operations possible, which was critical to the US war effort during World War II.

Since then, Chevron Delo has continued to pioneer, to improve, and to innovate in ways that have moved entire industries forward. And while engine oil may be the lifeblood of your engine, for Edgar Hansen, Deck Boss of the vessel the Northwestern, featured in the hit TV series “Deadliest Catch,” the stakes are even higher. He runs his ship on Delo because when he’s 250 miles from shore in the harsh Bering Sea, an engine failure is more than a costly service issue; it’s a matter of life and death. Now THAT’S a product you can trust.

Maximize Engine Durability

Whether you have new trucks, older trucks, or a combination of the two, maximizing engine durability is a crucial step towards lowering your total cost of operation.

We all know that as a truck ages, maintenance needs increase. You can offset some of these costs, but as equipment ages, replacement costs drive up maintenance costs.
Early maintenance practices set the stage for later issues that often arise after the warranty expires.

The Chevron Solution:
Rigorous early maintenance practices can help you delay maintenance issues that may arise later. From bumper-to-bumper, the Chevron family of products has proven in field tests to provide extended durability. And the longer your truck lasts, the more you save.

If a truck costs $2,500 per month now, in ten years that same truck will cost around $3375 per month, assuming an annual increase of approximately 3%. The longer you can delay that expense, the greater your return on investment.
